We start with you.

Before the formal launch of DIVINE Spaces, we are seeking 10 Northeast Founding Partner faith communities ready to help shape the first cohort.

This is not a badge to display.

It is not another welcoming statement.

It is not a rainbow flag by another name.

It is not a denominational affirmation program.

DIVINE Spaces is for faith communities ready to move beyond welcome into accountable sacred transformation — communities prepared to examine their theology, culture, leadership, policies, pastoral care, and public witness so queer people can enter without fear, diminishment, or debate.

It takes time.

It takes intention.

It takes investment.

Because transformation does not happen by accident.

It happens when a community choose the work.

Becoming a DIVINE Space

A DIVINE Space is a faith community that recognizes queer people as vital to the wholeness of the body — not optional, not symbolic, and not a theological issue to be debated. Through assessment, conversation, immersion, covenant, and ongoing accountability, DIVINE Spaces helps faith communities become radically affirming sanctuaries where queer people are fully seen, fully safe, and fully celebrated.

Assessment

We begin with a guided self-assessment that asks direct, challenging questions about your community’s theology, leadership, policies, culture, and readiness for sacred safety.

Interview

Your responses become the foundation for a deeper conversation. We listen for commitment, clarity, humility, and the places where your community may need support before moving forward.

Immersion

The next phase brings the work into the life of the community through The Queer Beatitudes, our guided formation experience rooted in queer lived experience, theological reflection, sacred safety, and communal transformation.

Through listening, reflection, anonymous feedback, and facilitated conversation, we begin to understand whether the intentions of leadership are reflected in the lived experience of the congregation.

Certify

Certification is not the end of the process. It is the beginning of ongoing accountability.

Certified DIVINE Spaces continue the work through regular conversations, continued formation, public visibility, and accountable practice. Communities may also host Sacred Safety Circles — within their own walls or out in the world — creating spaces where queer people can gather, share, heal, and be held in confidence and care.
